2023 studio recap
A lot can happen in a year - a lot can stay the same. This year brought a lot of peaks and valleys, lots of travel, and not enough time outside (is there ever enough?). I'm reflecting on where I've been while looking forward to what's to come: 10 years ago I completed my first thru-hike on the PCT, this year I had my first solo show at CHUNG 24 in San Francisco, and in just a few months I'll be sailing from Svalbard to take part in the Arctic Circle Residency.
I was asked to speak at the Photo Alliance Lecture Series, opening for Todd Hido. Thank you so much for having me, Rachel Phillips! A big thank you to all who showed up to this sold out event. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know and being part of the special Bay Area photo community, and I am excited for what lies ahead.
I was a part of a few group shows with many other amazing artists:
~2023 International Juried Exhibition at Center for Photographic Art
~UnBound12! at Candela Gallery
~PCNW’S 2023 Benefit Auction Preview Exhibition at Photographic Center Northwest

2023 brought many new fun firsts:
~Became an aunt. <3
~ Officiated a wedding for special friends on a boat in Juneau, Alaska with a glacier backdrop.
~ Completed 15 mile SF Crosstown Trail.
~Hiked through golden larches in WA.
~ Traveled to Monterey, MX and Baja assisting for my gal, Cayce Clifford.
Time moves slower in these dark Seattle winter months, yet we are on the other side and gaining light day by day. I am looking forward to what is planned for 2024, and the guarantee of the unknown that is to show up when least expected.
Sending love and and gratitude to you all. Reach out, I’d love to hear from you.
~Meg
